NEEDLESS to say, the Twilight series is a proven box office seller, with the latest Eclipse installment raking in nearly US$300 million since it opened on June 30.

But now, it looks like the movies’ stars are going to see a little bit of a pay rise as well. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will reportedly receive US$25 million each for starring in the final two movies of the franchise. They’ll also get a cut of the gross profits this time around, possibly lifting the total payout to US$41 million.

Nymag.com also says “Summit will pay stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner each a whopping US$25 million against 7.5 per cent of the theatrical gross for starring in the next and last two Twilight movies, Breaking Dawn, parts one and two.”

Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the movies, re-negotiated the contracts earlier this year after deciding to split Stephanie Meyer’s final book, Breaking Dawn, into two movies.
