THE gloves are off.

A war of words has erupted between porn star Jenna Jameson and her mixed martial arts fighter boyfriend Tito Ortiz just one day after his arrest for an alleged domestic violence attack against her. One minute, Jenna claims: “it hurts me to think that everybody out there thinks he beat me,” and the next: “talk about trying to save someone’s ass for being a wife beater.”

Who’s telling the truth? It’s a tough call, but looks like it’s all going downhill from here.

On Monday, Tito was arrested at the homes he shares with the adult film actress after police received a call at 9.53am, reporting a “disturbance” at the home. Police revealed they found Jenna with “visible injuries” when they arrived at the Huntington Beach residence. Breaking news website TMZ ran photos of the fighter being led from his home in handcuffs soon after.

Jenna was later seen leaving the house with her father, and told reporters outside her home that she would be pressing charges.

“I’m gonna be alright. My babies are alright…everything’s OK…he’s in jail,” she said, referring to her 13-month-old twin sons Jesse Jameson Ortiz and Journey Jett Ortiz.

True to his nature, Tito wasn’t going to go down without a fight. Word soon spread about Jenna’s addiction to prescription medication.

“Jenna has been fighting a battle with OxyContin addiction for the past year. For Tito and her family this has been an uphill battle. Unfortunately, this morning, she had a relapse,” Tito’s attorney Chip Matthews said at a press conference. “Tito was trying to help her, she has threatened suicide before. Tito has done everything in his power to protect her privacy and the privacy of their children.”

According to the lawyer, the Ultimate Fighting champion confronted his girlfriend about drugs he had found and she denied using them. Jenna allegedly suffered an “emotional breakdown,” prompting the 911 call from her father who was not in the room at the time of the confrontation.

Friends of the couple are surprised at the news, saying there were never any signs of trouble between the two.

“Jenna was fine over the weekend, better than fine,” a source told Pop Tarts. “She was so happy playing with her boys, talking about what work she could do that wouldn’t keep her away from her kids for too long. Her first priority is being a good mum. It’s so scary that this has happened.”

Another source added: “Tito was just delightful, I could always see why Jenna was attracted to him. He was so gentle, like a big teddy bear and they were so madly in love.”

“Jenna went through a lot in her last marriage and thought this [relationship] was a dream come true. I just can’t believe it.”

Tito, one of the most popular fighters in mixed martial arts history, reentered the Ultimate Fighting Championship last year after a bitter dispute with president Dana White forced him to leave in 2008.

Dana said Tito’s career with the UFC is in jeopardy again if the allegations of domestic violence are true.

“We’re gonna be fair, but we could cut him,” said Dana.

The UFC head wants to wait until the police reports are in, but the league can take action even before the legal process runs its course.

“Other than going on a killing spree, being accused of domestic violence is the worst thing you can have going for you.”
