HOW did we miss it in the first place?

As we all know, there has been rife speculation in the past about Lady Gaga‘s genitalia and the rumour that she was born with both lady and man bits. But of course, the Lady herself addressed the issue in her latest video “Telephone” with Beyoncé, in which she leaps up against the bars of her prison cell to reveal her true, er, colours.

Perhaps it was all a ploy to distract us from the truth? Could that be? If reports are anything to go by, we can’t believe we didn’t spot it in the first place.

People magazine reported last year that Gaga claims she is “changing what people think is sexy” in the entertainment world, and believed she doesn’t “look like the other perfect little pop singers”.

Yes, we all thought she was referring to her bizarre dress sense, but according to a report on gossip website PerezHilton.com, Gaga was referring to the fact she is really someone else we already knew and gawked at.

Already counting him as a fan, Gaga today revealed that she is surprised no one noticed the similarities between her two personas before. She said: “It’s funny. I thought I would be found out much earlier than this. In the spirit of being true to myself, I decided it might be time to tell the world the truth.”

Pretend for one second that it sounds less absurd than it is, after all, we don’t expect much from Mr Hilton. But in recent times, a no-show Marilyn was reportedly quoted as saying, “[Lady Gaga] knows exactly what she’s doing. She’s very smart, she’s not selling out, she’s a great musician, she’s a great singer, and she’s laughing when she’s doing it, the same way that I am.”

Really? The same way you are Marilyn? Or is it that you are one in the same person? Maybe Perez is on to something here.

If Marilyn isn’t the same person as Gaga, why we haven’t heard from the attention-seeking rocker since Gaga burst onto the stage? Where are you Marilyn? Has anyone ever seen the two in the same place or event? Our verdict: two people who are the exact same person can’t be in the same room at the same time.

Look at any Gaga and Marilyn video: they share more than musical styling, the gazillion costume changes, the nudity and, well, the metal mouth gear.

Far more similar is the bone structure. The nose, the chin — it’s all too freakishly similar.

Of course, we cannot leave out the fact the two stars share a common interest in donning stiletto heels, fishnet stockings, rubber, latex, leather and plastic concoctions. No wonder Marilyn wore those impossible heels so well!

Okay, so maybe we’re getting a little ahead of ourselves, but even Gaga herself admitted she has a “weakness” for the American rocker. She said: “I have a thing about Marilyn Manson. I think he’s amazing. I just have this weakness for leather, long hair and a dark side.”

Like we needed more convincing than that! As they saying goes, you have to love yourself before others can love you.
