Pammie’s New Ad Banned in Australia

IT seems Pamela Anderson is just too hot for our tele, although she was kosher for years bouncing around in slow-motion during family-friendly programming hours.
The offending ad begins with the Baywatch babe-turned-Dancing with the Stars contestant in full corporate mode while shilling for Perth-based company CrazyDomains.com.au. Pretty soon, a coworker’s imagination gets the better of him and Anderson is depicted alongside a female cohort getting doused in cream.
The ad, which quickly tallied more than 40 complaints for its supposed raunch factor, has subsequently been banned.
Advertising Standards Bureau chief executive Fiona Jolly told Melbourne’s The Age that the commercial was “meant to be cheeky, over-the-top depiction, but in the bureau’s view it did cross the line”.
Crazy Domains’ managing director Gavin Collins has vowed to fight the ban, and has aimed the entirety of the backlash blame on “feminist bloggers”.
Although he isn’t too bright, we do agree the ad isn’t all that bad.
