FORMER The Simple Life star Nicole Richie plans to leave Los Angeles after her recent bout of pneumonia.

Earlier this month, Nicole was admitted to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre after collapsing at home. She was later diagnosed with pneumonia and friends blamed exhaustion: “Nicole has been stressed and worn out since she gave birth to Sparrow in September.”

A source added, “Joel was in Australia when Nicole first fell ill. She was overwhelmed and, during a phone call, screamed at Joel ‘I can’t take this anymore – get me out of Hollywood.’” The illness was a huge wake-up call and Nicole wants to escape Hollywood and raise their kids in New York.
