Runway Review: Monique Lhullier Fall 2010, New York

MONIQUE Lhullier marched out stunning red carpet looks at such pace it was hard to clock all the intricate detailing. Working an Asian warrior theme, model after model was dressed to kill.
The shorter embellished looks reigned supreme, with dragon prints, lacquered matelassé, lashings of gold and, of course, red, red and more red. The leggy silhouettes left us begging for more, but not before the Hollywood worthy gowns came out to play. The strapless, (red!) silk number with its gathered rosette skirt was beyond gorgeous, and any embellishment on these occasion dresses only added to their appeal.
A particular green sequinned number, which debuted early in the show, will surely find its way to the red carpet. The bottle glass hue stood out easily in the sea of blacks, crimsons and merlots.
Tweed made a surprise appearance in the form of a Chanel-style skirt suit, while power shoulders and detailed necklines remained a staple on her runway.
We thank Monique for trying something different.
