AT the Calvin Klein Collection runway show for New York Fashion Week, Australian actress Naomi Watts wears a t-shirt dress from the designer and adds chunky suede sandals to keep things casual. Her simple gold necklace and makeup adds to her low maintenance style.

The 41-year-old might have missed out on walking the red carpet with her co-stars at the premiere of her film The International in Berlin, but her ears are certainly burning from it. Her German Director Tom Tykwer and British co-star Clive Owen sang her praises all night.

“We almost made a couple of films together that didn’t come off,” said Owen.

“I’m thrilled that this one did. She’s a really great actress and a really lovely girl.”

Twyker, who made his name with Run Lola Run, admits it’s no coincidence he had directed Cate Blanchett in 2002′s Heaven.

“I don’t know why I like Australian actresses, I just like ‘em,” he said.

“They’re smart and intelligent and they’re still lovely while having a toughness about them. In this case, I needed someone to be on Clive’s eye level, because she’s his boss and had to seem superior. Naomi’s a good match for him emotionally.”
