LOOKS like Mel Gibson isn’t getting off easy after six separate recordings of his racist, sexist, abusive rants surfaced on the internet in the past weeks.

This time, California Governer Arnold Schwarzenegger took the chance to throw a few jabs at the Oscar winner on Wednesday, going as far as to compare him to the Gulf of Mexico oil leak, said The Associated Press.

During talktime with a group of utility commissioners in Sacramento, Arnie noted that while BP appears to have contained its well, “no one has figured out how to contain Mel Gibson“. Nice one!

The governor also addressed the expletive-filled phone calls that have been monopolising headlines of late, asking the participants to turn off their cellphones “because we are expecting a call from him”.

Mel’s spokesperson Alan Nierob said he’s happy to hear that Arnie is keeping a sense of humour about the whole kerfuffle and that “he’s obviously paving the way for a return to showbiz.”

In the most recent tape released, again by RadarOnline, Mel is accused by ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva of hitting their 8-month-old baby daughter. The mother of his child has now come forward with photos of abrasions on the little girl’s face, saying that they were caused when the 54-year-old hit her while she was carrying the child in her arms.

Police are also investigating Mel’s claims that the tapes are part of a failed extortion plot on Oksana’s behalf, providing evidence that the Russian musician had asked for “millions” in exchange for keeping the recorded conversations from the public.
