LILY Allen has taken a number of breaks from her singing career, and announced recently that she was taking an extended break in hopes of having a baby in the first year of her sabbatical.
“It’ll be a minimum of four or five years before I make a record again,” she said. “I’d like to have a child within a year. I know what commitment it takes to release an album. I don’t think that mixes well with the idea of settling down and having children, which is ultimately my goal and more of a priority than flying around the world.”
But looks like the time may have come, with Lily spotted wearing a billowy harem pantsuit at the Wireless Festival, and at last weekend’s Glastonbury Festival in England steering clear of her vices of cigarettes and alcohol.
A witness told BANG Showbiz: “Lily spent the whole night sat on a deck chair wrapped up in a poncho canoodling with Sam. She didn’t touch a drop of alcohol and not one cigarette passed her lips all night.”
Lily is currently dating builder Sam Cooper, 31, and apparently discusses the notion of having babies with him often. The 25-year-old was left heartbroken in January 2008 when she miscarried a baby with then-boyfriend Ed Simons.
The “Not Fair” singer even scoffs at claims that she is too young to become a mother.
“I don’t think I’m that young to have a baby. My mother had me when she was 23. It’s difficult as a woman who wants a family,” she said in an interview for Elle magazine.
“Kids take up your whole life, particularly in the first two or three years. So it wouldn’t be very responsible of me to commit to doing a world tour if I had a baby.”
We’re keeping our fingers crossed for you, Lily!
