FASHION maven and author Lauren Conrad brings her book tour home to Los Angeles in a pretty, ruffled tank paired wit striped balloon shorts and peep-toe Christian Louboutin pumps.

She first broke away from the reality TV circuit by becoming the bestselling author of the L.A. Candy series and this month, she promotes Sweet Little Lies. The new book follows the plot of Lauren’s previous book in which two girls, Jane and Scarlett, move to L.A. and are discovered by a producer for a new reality show. The show unexpectedly rockets into fame and the girls plus two other actresses, Gaby and Madison, have to deal with the newfound stardom.

As you can tell, most of the plot is predictable and infuriatingly jevenile, but the prose is almost perfect (no doubt with huge thanks to her editors). And if you think the plot sounds all too familiar, you wouldn’t be wrong either.
