HAS Kaiser Karl finally changed his mind about the so-called plus-size model population?

The once-overweight designer famously said late last year that frustrations with the skinny models on the runways were driven by “fat mothers with their bags of chips, sitting in front of the television and saying thin models were ugly.”

But it looks like he might have changed his tune. In January, he shot an editorial for V Magazine‘s “Size Issue”, featuring plus-size burlesque performer Miss Dirty Martini. This month, he takes it one step further, casting size 12 model-of-the-moment Crystal Renn in his 2011 Cruise Collection presentation.
