OSCAR-nominated Gabourey Sidibe is obviously talented, but who knew that talent ran so deep the family.

Gaby’s mum Alice Tan Ridley, a New York subway regular, has been making waves on YouTube and Dutch television, and gave last night’s episode of America’s Got Talent a very precious moment indeed.

Alice shocked the audience and the judges when she sang her cheeky version of Etta James’ “At Last”, leaving judges Piers Morgan, Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne more than impressed with her diva-esque vocals.

Even host Nick Cannon, married to legendary diva Mariah Carey, cheered her on from the sidelines, shouting, “Sing it, Mama!”

Alice got three “yes”es from the judges and moves on to the next round in Las Vegas.

Who needs to ride the coattails of your talented relations, hey?
