THE much-awaited premiere of Sex and the City 2 set flashbulbs alight when the fabulous foursome walked the red carpet in New York City.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall received mixed reviews for their choice of attire, with Sarah Jessica garnering the most attention, of course.

She wore a fluorescent lime Valentino gown from the Spring 2010 collection and chose heavy silver Salvatore Ferragamo double platform pumps to match. The shoes left a bad taste in our mouth, although we more than love, love, LOVE the dress.

SJP also sported new, blonder locks and sparkling diamond cuff bracelets to keep the glitz with the glamour.

Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte York-Goldenblatt in the series, chose another almost fluoro-hued pink gown from Decades Inc. The Jean Desses silk chiffon dress featured ruching and a draped skirt detail attached to the waist.

The vintage-style dress was accented with Fred Leighton jewels, a Judith Leiber clutch and Christian Louboutin peep-toe heels.

Playing it safe, Cynthia Nixon went with foolproof Carolina Herrera and sported new strawberry blonde locks to really set the jet-black colour off. Simple diamond drop earrings and a sparkling clutch match the crystal leaf motif on the dress flawlessly.

Last but certainly not least, Kim Kattrall channels her sexpot alter-ego in a stunning Naeem Khan gold embellished gown featuring a deep plunge v-neck and empire waist. Kim’s old Hollywood glamour—with her marcel waves and red lips—add elegance to her minimal look. A tiny tapestry wristlet and simple gold jewellery complete it.
