FOR the New York premiere of her new movie The Runaways, Dakota Fanning wears an Elie Saab couture hand-embroidered cocktail dress with taupe, suede Brian Atwood pumps. We’re glad Dakota keeps things under wraps and doesn’t try to look beyond her 16 years.

The actress admits that she is still having a hard time shedding her child star image and it was one of the reasons she chose to do her latest role.

“I can be sweet little Dakota Fanning, and then I can be totally different in the movie,” said Dakota.

“A big reason I wanted to do The Runaways was to do something unlike anything that I’ve done before.”

“I’m ready to have people see me in a different way than like the kid in I Am Sam or War of the Worlds. You have to kind of grow up. Everyone has to do it. I am doing it through films, which may be more difficult but it’s what I love to do.”
