NICOLE Richie is spotted leaving Madeo Restaturant in West Hollywood last week wearing the Lola cardigan from her Winter Kate collection.

The collection is set to debut with her House of Harlow footwear collection in February 2010, expanding her already popular House of Harlow 1960 jewellery line. The apparel and shoes will further demonstrate her design prowess and feature a similar vintage aesthetic.

The new line, created in partnership with brand owner and manufacturer Majestic Mills, is comprised of approximately 40 pieces including dresses, blouses, tunics, vests and jackets in silk crepes and chiffons with handcrafted embroidery and macramé details.

Winter Kate – the names of Nicole’s daughter Harlow – feature pieces that will allow women to feel feminine, yet are functional, working perfectly for layering or worn alone for warmer climates.

The shoes range from rich skins to a more playful, bohemian collection of moccasins and sandals. There is a great attention to detail and beautiful embellishments on the range of sandals, wedges, platforms and high heels.

BRINGING her style to the forefront, actress Michelle Williams tops her zip-front floral dress with a brass-buttoned boyfriend blazer and brown ankle booties for the premiere of the Sundance Film Festival premiere of Mother and Daughter.

Rumours from the festival are hinting that Michelle and co-star Ryan Gosling may be more than just on-screen lovers. The photogenic twosome play husband and wife in Blue Valentine but it was their closeness offscreen that had tongues wagging over the weekend.

The couple are said to share come pretty racy scenes in the movie, which may account for how close they looked on the red carpet at both the T-Mobile MyTouch dinner party and a Coach party at the festival.

The movie tells the story of a married couple who, in a bid to save their relationship, take a trip to a theme hotel and attempt to relive their life together, from their first meeting to the problems that plague them today.

HOSTING her “Waking Up in Vegas” party in celebration of her hit song, Katy Perry added even more dazzle to Sin City in a draped metal mesh dress and multi-coloured metallic Louboutin pumps.

In recent news, Katy’s goofy fiance British comedian Russell Brand told the press he had some off-the-wall plans in store for their wedding: the dress code would be ‘clothing-optional’.

15-year-old Dakota Fanning brings downtown cool to Sundance, wearing black dress accessorised with an asymmetrical Alica + Olivia jacket and fingerless gloves at the premiere of her new movie The Runaways.

The film charts the rise and fall of one of the first all-female rock bands and also stars Twilight actress Kristen Stewart. The young stars deliver impressive performances as Valley girls-turned-rock icons Joan Jett and Cherie Currie.

With provocative costumes, underage drinking, drug use and sex, The Runaways will likely catapult the actresses out of teen queen status. But neither appears very concerned about alienating fans. There’s also a drug-fuelled kiss between Kristen and Dakota about midway through the film that will likely help them shed their image – and do absolutely nothing to quiet the film’s buzz.

“It wasn’t that big of a deal,” Dakota said. “It’s just another part of the story.”
