BRITTANY Murphy’s husband and mother gave an emotional account of the days before the actress’ death on Larry King Live.

In one of their few public appearance since the tragic event, Simon Monjack and Sharon Murphy spoke to the CNN host about their last conversation with Brittany.

“Mom, I’m dying,” Monjack recalled Brittany saying on the morning of her death.

Sharon, visibly distraught, let Monjack do most of the talking.

“Her eyes were not right,” said Monjack.

“They were darting off left and right and centre.”

The coroner’s report cited the Clueless star’s death on December 20 as an accident, mostly due to pneumonia. The report also stated that prescription drugs and anaemia may have played a role.

Monjack rejected the suggestion that drugs were involved, saying his wife showed signs of laryngitis and suffered from a heart murmur.

“My wife had not taken any drugs that could harm her that morning,” he told King.

The primary cause of the death was “community aquired pneumonia,” with contributing factors of iron deficiency anaemia and “multiple drug intoxicaion,” according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Coroner’s spokesperson Craig Harvey declined to specify what drugs were involved in Murphy’s death but said they were all prescribed medications. Details about the drugs in her system will be released in several weeks when a complete report is done.

The death was ruled accidental.
