After officially relinquishing herself from alter ego Sasha Fierce, R&B diva Beyoncé introduces a new one to the world — a raunchy, long-suffering housewife. We hope you’re listening, Jay-Z!

Jokes aside, the new video for “Why Don’t You Love Me” features a nod to classic 50′s American television, opening with a narrator introducing the singer, “starring as B.B. Homemaker.”

The video sees the Grammy-winner doing her best impression of a Mad Men-style wife, crying into a phone with mascara streaming down her face, while guzzling martinis and smoking cigarettes. Of course, it’s not all morbid as Beyoncé goes through her daily chores, cleaning the kitchen, dusting her many Grammy awards, and watering the plants, all the while without a man in sight.

The video is the ninth from her album I Am…Sasha Fierce and was co-directed by Melina Matsouka and the singer herself.

In February this year, in an interview with Allure magazine, Beyoncé surprised her fans when she proclaimed she had put her Sasha Fierce character to rest.

“I don’t need Sasha Fierce anymore, because I’ve grown and now I’m able to merge the two,” she explained to the magazine.
