THE who’s who of Australian actors in Hollywood turned out in Los Angeles on Saturday night to honour all things Aussie, including legendary golfer Greg Norman.
Nicole Kidman and singing sensation Keith Urban returned to the event where they met in 2005, unexpectedly breaking out in song dedicated to friend and actor Simon Baker. Nicole kicked off her heels and danced around husband Keith in the unguarded tribute to Baker, who was up for an award for Australian Excellence in Film and Television.
They sang their own version of Men at Work’s “Land Down Under” about The Mentalist and The Devil Wears Prada star:
“His name is Simon Baker, surfer dude, home renovator. He was bound to be a Hollywood player,” sang Keith.
“He’s CBS’s big money maker, The Mentalist ratings maker.”
Another award was collected by United States of Tara actress Toni Collette, who also yesterday brought home a Golden Globe for her role in the TV series.
Greg Norman was honoured with an Excellence in Sport award which he accepted from John Travolta before his children Morgan and Gregory. The Shark, who filed for divorce in December, last night declared he was back on the market. When asked if he was looking for love, the golfer said: “Always.”
